Marseille

This is the view that greeted us as we walked into our airbnb. We had a hard time dragging these two monkeys out of the apartment. But to be honest, Shad and I didn't want to leave either. For the next four days, we spent most of our time at home, popping out only for short periods. We read, played on iPads, played charades and guessing games, and just lazed around looking out at the sea, feeling the cool sea breeze blow in, making the most of our time here. Chillaxing, as Mia calls it!

The two best seats in the house

Crystal clear water

An old palace which was formerly used as a prison

Not the most comfortable place to sunbathe but these rocks were full of "beach" goers picnicking everyday.

This is probably a much more comfortable way to picnic.

A different view from down below our apartment

Walking along people's back terraces.

Blending into the street art

Paddlers coming back before nightfall

Sunsets here were incredibly mesmerising. Bright vibrant colours filled the sky as the sun slowly hide itself behind the horizon.

Day 1...

Day 2....

Day 3...

The sea looked so inviting but the water was freezing cold. Although the days were sunny, the wind was rather chilly so it was hard to get motivated about going for a swim. Mia and I chickened out but the boys did go for a swim out to the island. Shad actually did it twice, once on his own and the other time with Ryan.

A lonely figure out on the rocky island

Not so lonely this time with a companion
