Our last day in the Galapagos. The days have gone by way too quickly, there's still so much to see, so much to experience. We do not want to leave, but today promises to be a special one. We will be going to Cabo Rosa, the marine tunnels, and Finado Bay. We will be walking on volcanic lava formations, spotting more blue-footed boobies, and swimming with more sea turtles, sharks and rays, and if we are really lucky, we may even see killer whales on our way.
Full of anticipation, waiting to see her beloved killer whales.
Nature's work, so beautiful and peaceful.
Walking on this sharp uneven volcanic rock formation required a lot of concentration.
Natural marine tunnels
Water so clear we could see the beautiful turtles gliding past.
One very cute resident.
Nativating our way out of the tunnels was pretty challenging. It seems only the boat captains who are are locals from Isabella are skilled enough to do this.
Snorkelling in Finado Bay was a totally different experience. While we didn't see as much sea life here (we did see a couple of sea horses!) as some of the other sites we've been to, the experience of swimming through the narrow lava tunnels, sometimes in darkness, was unforgettable.
This little one has gotten so good at snorkelling, she's ready for scuba next.
No, we didn't see any killer whales today much to the disappointment of one little girl. But we did get a re-cap of the amazing wildlife and incredible landscape that Galapagos has the offer. This really was the perfect ending to our time here in this beautiful part of the world.
