The Big 5

"They grow up so quickly..." I used to wonder why parents would sigh with sadness whenever they said this of their child. It was only when I became a parent myself that I fully understood the emotions that came with this simple phrase. Our firstborn turned five on the 28th of June. Looking at him that morning as he excited jumped out of bed to look for his presents, I felt a twinge of sadness. As I looked at this gangly little boy, I realised that it won't be long before he will outgrow my cuddles and kisses. The past five years have been an amazing journey for both Shad and I. Ryan has brought unimaginable joy to our lives. Each day brings even more surprises as he continues to amaze us with the things that he says and does which never fail to bring a smile (or a grimace depending on the "action"!) to our faces.
